Penectomy

While plenty of patients come to us looking to undergo a relatively standard male or female gender transition process, plenty of our patients come to us with nonbinary preferences, and would like to undergo a procedure that allows them to enjoy a gender-noncomforming body that feels natural and right to them.

We offer a number of procedures that can help with this process, including a penectomy. This procedure can enable a patient to remove their penis, without further feminizing the genital region by constructing a vagina or vulva, for example. While some transitioning patients wish to use their penile tissues for the creation of a functioning vulva and/or vagina, many patients wish to undergo penectomy as a non-standard gender affirmation surgery.

When performed alongside an orchiectomy (removal of the testicles), and/or a scrotectomy procedure (the removal of the scrotal sac), the penectomy can be a part of the nullification procedure, which eliminates the presence of sexually-identifying genitals.
