Who makes a good blepharoplasty candidate?
While the appearance of the eyelids is not typically considered either a masculine or feminine trait, a blepharoplasty can help maximize the results obtained from other facial feminization procedures, and can help you to feel and look your best. Patients should be non-smokers in good mental and physical health with reasonable expectations for their outcome.
What will recovery entail?
After blepharoplasty, it is common to experience swelling around the eyes along with some redness and tearing. Dr. Satterwhite will provide eye drops and ointments to help ease any discomfort, along with pain medications. Recovery may also include a temporary oversensitivity to light. Cold compresses can be placed on the eyes to help minimize swelling. You should keep your head elevated at first, and avoid activities that can dry up the eyes, such as spending many hours in front of screens. You can resume all normal activities in 14-21 days.
Facial feminization costs may include:
- Surgeon’s fees
- Facility fees
- Anesthesia fees
- Prescription medication fees
- Post-surgical garments
- Diagnostic testing fees
Dr. Satterwhite will break down all costs for you and provided a detailed, personalized quote at the time of your private San Francisco consultation.
